A tlumnph
A tlumnph is a ritual item carried by a Fobott'r. It is a small rectangular metal tablet that is finely engraved with Fobott'r touchscript, detailing its owner's life, genealogy and accomplishments.[1][2] All Fobott'r craft their own tlumnph, and the degree of skill in its engraving is a matter of great pride.[3]
A tlumnph is considered sacred, and the Fobott'r will go to great lengths to recover them - including the deployment of major battlegroups, led by the very top of the Fobott'r religious hierarchy.[3] Handling, let alone looting them, is a sacrilege equivalent to desecrating the dead[4], and will incite the Fobott'r to great fury.
The tlumnph of dead Fobott'r are laid to rest in a grand vault in Tetlumbrathi on the Fobott'r homeworld, Gripp, though many Fobott'r will also make a pilgrimage there to deliver theirs in person.[1] It is considered taboo to touch a tlumnph without their owner's permission, even for Greatmother Kathlumira.[5]
For her effort in recovering and safeguarding the tlumnphs of the crew of Soulward Honor, Captain Ellen Foxworthy was granted an Ondrophol Decree - effectively honorary citizenship for a non-Fobott'r - an honor that at the time was held by at most one other person.[6]
